Carl Vine

Carl joined M&G in September 2019 as Co-Head of Asia Pacific Equity Investments. He is the fund manager of both the M&G Japan Fund and the M&G Japan Smaller Companies Fund and serves as Deputy Fund Manager of the M&G Asian Fund.

He has over 22 years of investment experience in Japan. He began his career in 1997 at Prudential and moved to Tokyo in 1999. At UBS, he led major investments, including in Isuzu, Sojitz, and Japan’s largest MBO. In 2008, he joined SAC Capital in Hong Kong as Managing Director. In 2014, he co-founded Port Meadow Capital, serving as CIO and managing a pan-Asian long-short equity portfolio.
